Widely considered one of the most visually stunning movies ever made without CGI, The Fall continues to capture audiences with its fantastical visual feast. Utilizing the landscapes of 28 countries to blur the lines between surrealistic storytelling and very real suffering, a little girl in a hospital befriends a paralyzed ex-stuntman, who tells her about 5 mystical heroes out to kill a man named Odious. She gets attached to the world he builds, and his manipulative ulterior motive reveals a common relationship to natural medicine within the medical industry. The vivid colors on screen complement the childlike wonder, but the story begins to deteriorate as his mental health does.
“This region was once a lush forest alive with birds and sacred trees, but Odious had them all burned down.”
