5th Ave Cinema Presents "Experimental Plantlife”: A Collection of 16mm Shorts Selected from Canyon Cinema. Each night will feature live improvised film scores set to the collection, transporting the audience auditorily and electronically, bound by nature and deeply fixed within the visual illustrations of Barbara Hammer, James Otis, Jodie Mack, Oskar Fischinger and Mary Beth Reed. Spanning nearly a century, this collection of 16mm shorts features prints from the 1920s through to the 2020s, moving through all manner of landscapes, nature and plant life, finding shapes and melting emulations within the material and natural world.

Each screening will feature a live musical performance from a local artist.
